The Blue Jet Screens at CELLULOID SOCIAL CLUB

If you missed Laurence Le Lam's magnificent nostalgic retro short, The Blue Jet, at the Vancouver Short Film Festival, you can catch it on Thursday, March 31st, 2016 at the next edition of Celluloid Social Club.

The evening also includes a screening of recent STORYHIVE films - the TELUS OPTIK LOCAL-funded competition has recently opened submissions for another season of web series.

Hamish Purdy, 2016 Oscar Nominee for Set Decoration for The Revenant, who is also featured in Reel West's upcoming spring issue, will speak about working on the film and attending the 2016 Oscars.

Western Canadian premiere at 2015 Whistler Film (nominated for the Borsos Award for Best Canadian Feature). Awarded Best Feature at the Spokane International Film Festival.  Best Independent Feature Narrative award at the Winnipeg Real to Reel Film Festival, the Golden Honu for Best Foreign Feature at the Big Island Film Festival in Hawaii, a Special Jury Prize for Feature Narrative at the Columbia Gorge International Film Festival, and Best Picture, Best Actress (Chelah Horsdal), and Best Supporting Actress (Michelle Creber) at the Oregon Independent Film Festival.   Chelah Horsdal’s performance was also nominated for a 2015 Leo Award.

Screening twice during Canadian Film Week at VIFF Vancity Theatre. Vancouver premiere 8:25 PM April 17th.  Screens again 5:30 PM April 20th, (National Canadian Film Day).  Post-screening Q&A will include O. Corbin Saleken (writer/director) and actors Fred Ewanuick, Alex Zahara, and Michelle Creber.
